2 Abraham said to his servant, the oldest of his household, who supervised his property, “Place your hand under my thigh[a] 3 and swear to the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom we live. 4 Rather, go to my homeland, to my family, and choose a wife for my son Isaac.”

2 He said to the senior servant(A) in his household, the one in charge of all that he had,(B) “Put your hand under my thigh.(C) 3 I want you to swear(D) by the Lord, the God of heaven(E) and the God of earth,(F) that you will not get a wife for my son(G) from the daughters of the Canaanites,(H) among whom I am living,(I) 4 but will go to my country and my own relatives(J) and get a wife for my son Isaac.(K)”
