18 And they[a] settled from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite Egypt as you go toward Asshur. He[b] lived in opposition to[c] all his brothers.(A)

19 These are the family records of Isaac son of Abraham. Abraham fathered Isaac.(B) 20 Isaac was 40 years old when he took as his wife Rebekah(C) daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan-aram(D) and sister of Laban the Aramean.(E)

18 His descendants(A) settled in the area from Havilah to Shur,(B) near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward[a] all the tribes related to them.(C)

19 This is the account(D) of the family line of Abraham’s son Isaac.
Abraham became the father of Isaac, 20 and Isaac was forty years old(E) when he married Rebekah(F) daughter of Bethuel(G) the Aramean from Paddan Aram[b](H) and sister of Laban(I) the Aramean.(J)
