Genesis 31:47-49
New Century Version
47 Laban named that place in his language A Pile to Remind Us, and Jacob gave the place the same name in Hebrew.
48 Laban said to Jacob, “This pile of rocks will remind us of the agreement between us.” That is why the place was called A Pile to Remind Us. 49 It was also called Mizpah,[a] because Laban said, “Let the Lord watch over us while we are separated from each other.

47 Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha, and Jacob called it Galeed.[a](A)
48 Laban said, “This heap(B) is a witness between you and me today.”(C) That is why it was called Galeed. 49 It was also called Mizpah,[b](D) because he said, “May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other.
