53 May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father[a] judge between us.” Then Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac. 54 And Jacob sacrificed a sacrifice on the hill, and he called his kinsmen to eat the meal.[b] And they ate the meal[c] and spent the night on the hill. 55 [d] And Laban arose early in the morning and kissed his grandsons[e] and his daughters, and blessed them. Then Laban departed and returned to his homeland.

So Jacob took an oath(D) in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.(E) 54 He offered a sacrifice(F) there in the hill country and invited his relatives to a meal.(G) After they had eaten, they spent the night there.

55 Early the next morning Laban kissed his grandchildren and his daughters(H) and blessed(I) them. Then he left and returned home.[a](J)
