¹³He spent the night there, and from what he had with him he selected a gift^(A) for his brother Esau:

¹³And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;

⁴They will greet you and offer you two loaves of bread,^(A) which you will accept from them.

⁴And they will salute thee, and give thee two loaves of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hands.

⁶Many curry favor with a ruler,^(A)
and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts.^(B)

⁶Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.
