14 And Jacob set up (A)a pillar in the place where He had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it. 15 So Jacob named the place where God had spoken with him, [a](B)Bethel.
16 Then they journeyed from Bethel; and there was still some distance to go to (C)Ephrath, and Rachel gave birth, and she [b]suffered severely in her labor.

14 Jacob set up a stone pillar(A) at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering(B) on it; he also poured oil on it.(C) 15 Jacob called the place where God had talked with him Bethel.[a](D)

16 Then they moved on from Bethel. While they were still some distance from Ephrath,(F) Rachel(G) began to give birth and had great difficulty.
