7 He built an altar there, and called the place El Beth El; because there God was revealed to him, when he fled from the face of his brother. 8 Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died, and she was buried below Bethel under the oak; and its name was called Allon Bacuth.
9 God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan Aram, and blessed him.

7 There he built an altar,(A) and he called the place El Bethel,[a](B) because it was there that God revealed himself to him(C) when he was fleeing from his brother.(D)
8 Now Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse,(E) died and was buried under the oak(F) outside Bethel.(G) So it was named Allon Bakuth.[b]
9 After Jacob returned from Paddan Aram,[c](H) God appeared to him again and blessed him.(I)
