Good News Translation

39 The king said to Joseph, “God has shown you all this, so it is obvious that you have greater wisdom and insight than anyone else. 40 (A)I will put you in charge of my country, and all my people will obey your orders. Your authority will be second only to mine. 41 I now appoint you governor over all Egypt.”

39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you,(A) there is no one so discerning and wise as you.(B) 40 You shall be in charge of my palace,(C) and all my people are to submit to your orders.(D) Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.(E)”

41 So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.”(F)
