³² They served him by himself, his brothers by themselves, and the Egyptians who were eating with him by themselves, because Egyptians could not eat with Hebrews, since that is abhorrent to them.^(A)

²⁶ But Moses said, “It would not be right^[a] to do that, because what we will sacrifice to the Lord our God is detestable to the Egyptians.^(A) If we sacrifice what the Egyptians detest in front of them, won’t they stone us?
