Chapter 46
Jacob Goes to Egypt.[a] 1 Israel set out with all that he had and arrived at Beer-sheba where he offered a sacrifice to the God of his father Isaac.
2 God appeared to Israel in a vision during the night saying, “Jacob, Jacob.” He answered, “Here I am.”
3 He continued, “I am God, the God of your father. Do not fear to go down into Egypt, for down there I will make a great people of you.

- Genesis 46:1 One last time, the Lord manifests himself and renews his promise to the Patriarchs: the sojourn into Egypt is only a stage; already we get a glimpse of the Exodus, the birth of the people of Israel. This account invites all believers to discover the plan of God in a most astounding history and in their own lives.

46 So Israel(A) set out with all that was his, and when he reached Beersheba,(B) he offered sacrifices(C) to the God of his father Isaac.(D)
2 And God spoke to Israel(E) in a vision at night(F) and said, “Jacob! Jacob!”
“Here I am,”(G) he replied.
3 “I am God, the God of your father,”(H) he said. “Do not be afraid(I) to go down to Egypt,(J) for I will make you into a great nation(K) there.(L)
