2 When Jacob was informed,[a] “Your son Joseph is here now,” he[b] pulled himself together and sat up in bed. 3 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty[c] appeared to me in Luz in the land of Canaan. He blessed me 4 and said to me, ‘I am about to give you many children, to increase your numbers, and to make you a large group of peoples. I will give this land to your descendants following you as an enduring possession.’

2 When Jacob was told, “Your son Joseph has come to you,” Israel(A) rallied his strength and sat up on the bed.
3 Jacob said to Joseph, “God Almighty[a](B) appeared to me at Luz(C) in the land of Canaan, and there he blessed me(D) 4 and said to me, ‘I am going to make you fruitful and increase your numbers.(E) I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land(F) as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.’(G)
