22 “(A)Joseph is a fruitful [a]bough,
A fruitful [b]bough by a spring;
Its [c]branches run over a wall.
23 “The archers bitterly attacked him,
And shot at him and harassed him;
24 But his (B)bow remained [d]firm,
And [e](C)his arms were agile,
From the hands of the (D)Mighty One of Jacob

a fruitful vine near a spring,

23 With bitterness archers attacked him;(D)
they shot at him with hostility.(E)
24 But his bow remained steady,(F)
his strong arms(G) stayed[b] limber,
because of the hand of the Mighty One of Jacob,(H)
