4 The [a]Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.
5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented Jehovah that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

4 The Nephilim(A) were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans(B) and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.(C)
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth,(D) and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.(E) 6 The Lord regretted(F) that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
