15 A male and a female of each kind of living being went into the boat with Noah, 16 as God had commanded. Then the Lord shut the door behind Noah.
17 The flood continued for forty days, and the water became deep enough for the boat to float.

15 Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.(A) 16 The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah.(B) Then the Lord shut him in.
17 For forty days(C) the flood kept coming on the earth, and as the waters increased they lifted the ark high above the earth.
