The Flood Recedes

8 God remembered Noah,^(A) as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind^[a] to pass over the earth,^(B) and the water began to subside.

²² Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb.^(A)

¹¹ Making a vow,^(A) she pleaded, “Lord of Hosts, if You will take notice of Your servant’s affliction,^(B) remember and not forget me, and give Your servant a son,^[a] I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.”^[b](C)
