Genesis 8:7-9

7 and he sent out a raven, and it [a]flew here and there until the water was dried up [b]from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove from him, to see if the water was abated from the face of the land; 9 but the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, so she returned to him into the ark, for the water was on the [c]surface of all the earth. Then he put out his hand and took her, and brought her into the ark to himself.

New International Version
7 and sent out a raven,(A) and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.(B) 8 Then he sent out a dove(C) to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.
