³ May ^[a](A)God Almighty ^(B)bless you and ^(C)make you fruitful and ^(D)multiply you, so that you may become a ^(E)multitude of peoples.

¹¹ God also said to him,

³ Then He said, “^(A)I am God, the God of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will ^(B)make you into a great nation there.

²⁷ Now Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in ^[a]Goshen, and they ^(A)acquired property in it and ^(B)were fruitful and became very numerous.

⁴ and He said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and numerous, and I will make you a multitude of peoples, and will give this land to your ^[a]descendants after you as ^(A)an everlasting possession.’

⁵ And you shall respond and say before the Lord your God, ‘^(A)My father was a ^[a]wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and ^[b]resided there, ^(B)few in number; but there he became a ^(C)great, mighty, and populous nation.

¹⁷ “But as the ^(A)time of the promise which God had assured to Abraham was approaching, ^(B)the people increased and multiplied in Egypt,
