^12 (A)The Horites previously lived in Seir, but the sons of Esau dispossessed them and destroyed them from before ^[a]them, and settled in their place; ^(B)just as Israel did to the land of ^[b]their possession which the Lord gave them.)

²² just as He did for the sons of Esau, who ^(A)live in Seir, when He destroyed ^(B)the Horites from before them; they dispossessed them and settled in their place, where they remain even to this day.

^38 (A)The sons of Seir were Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. ³⁹ The sons of Lotan were Hori and ^[a]Homam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna. ⁴⁰ The sons of Shobal were ^[b]Alian, Manahath, Ebal, ^[c]Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon were Aiah and Anah. ⁴¹ The ^[d]son of Anah was Dishon. And the sons of Dishon were ^[e]Hamran, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran. ⁴² The sons of Ezer were Bilhan, Zaavan, and ^[f]Jaakan. The sons of Dishan were Uz and Aran.
