¹³ Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly ^(A)that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and ^(B)they will afflict them four hundred years.

¹⁴ And also the nation whom they serve ^(A)I will judge; afterward ^(B)they shall come out with great possessions.

⁴⁰ Now the ^[a]sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in ^[b]Egypt was ^(A)four hundred and thirty years.

⁴¹ And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years—on that very same day—it came to pass that ^(A)all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.

⁶ But God spoke in this way: ^(A)that his descendants would dwell in a foreign land, and that they would bring them into ^(B)bondage and oppress them four hundred years.

^7 (A)‘And the nation to whom they will be in bondage I will ^(B)judge,’ said God, ^(C)‘and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.’
