² When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is God’s ^(A)camp.” And he called the name of that place ^[a]Mahanaim.

David Prepares to Build the Temple

22 Then David said, ^(A)“This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Solomon Builds the Temple^(A)

3 Now ^(B)Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at ^(C)Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where ^[a]the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of ^(D)Ornan^[b] the Jebusite.
