³ Then the Lord said to Jacob, “^(A)Return to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and ^(B)I will be with you.”

¹² Now then go, and ^(A)I Myself will be with your mouth, and ^(B)instruct you in what you are to say.”

¹⁵ So you are to speak to him and ^(A)put the words in his mouth; and I Myself will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will instruct you in what you are to do.

¹⁴ And He said, “^(A)My presence shall go with you, and ^(B)I will give you rest.” ¹⁵ Then he said to Him, “^(C)If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. ¹⁶ For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that ^(D)we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are on the face of the ^[a]earth?”

Joshua Is Commissioned

^23 (A)Then He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “^(B)Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and ^(C)I will be with you.”

^5 (A)No one will be able to oppose you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; ^(B)I will not desert you nor abandon you.
