⁷ Yet your father has deceived me and ^(A)changed my wages ^(B)ten times, but God ^(C)did not allow him to hurt me.

⁵ And they journeyed, and ^(A)the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.

²⁴ For I will ^(A)cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.

²⁶ Now therefore, my lord, ^(A)as the Lord lives and as your soul lives, since the Lord has ^(B)held you back from coming to bloodshed and from ^(C)avenging^[a] yourself with your own hand, now then, ^(D)let your enemies and those who seek harm for my lord be as Nabal.

³⁴ For indeed, as the Lord God of Israel lives, who has ^(A)kept me back from hurting you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely ^(B)by morning light no males would have been left to Nabal!”
