The Flood Recedes

8 God remembered Noah,^(A) as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth,^(B) and the water began to subside.

²² Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb.^(A)

¹¹ Making a vow,^(A) she pleaded, “Lord of Armies, if you will take notice of your servant’s affliction,^(B) remember and not forget me, and give your servant a son, I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and his hair will never be cut.”^[a](C)
