Hebrews 11:17-19

¹⁷By faith ^(A)Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and the one who had ^(B)received the promises was offering up his ^[a]only son; ¹⁸it was he to whom it was said, “^(C)Through Isaac your ^[b]descendants shall be named.” ¹⁹^[c]He considered that ^(D)God is able to raise people even from the dead, from which he also received him back ^[d]as a ^[e]^(E)type.

New International Version

¹⁷By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice.^(A) He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, ¹⁸even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”^[a]^(B) ¹⁹Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead,^(C) and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
