Hebrews 11:2-4
New Testament for Everyone
2 It is what the men and women of old were famous for. 3 It is by faith that we understand that the worlds were formed by God’s word; in other words, that the visible world was made from the invisible.
4 It was by faith that Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than Cain. That earned him the testimony that he was in the right, since God himself bore witness in relation to his gifts. Through faith, he still speaks, even though he’s dead.

2 This is what the ancients were commended for.(A)
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command,(B) so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
4 By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended(C) as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings.(D) And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.(E)
