27 By this he means that he will sift out everything without solid foundations so that only unshakable things will be left.

28 Since we have a Kingdom nothing can destroy, let us please God by serving him with thankful hearts and with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.

27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken(A)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,(B) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,(C) 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[a](D)
