Hebrews 2:13-15
International Children’s Bible
13 He also says,
“I will trust in God.” Isaiah 8:17
And he also says,
“I am here. And with me are the children that God has given me.” Isaiah 8:18
14 These children are people with physical bodies. So Jesus himself became like them and had the same experiences they have. He did this so that, by dying, he could destroy the one who has the power of death. That one is the devil. 15 Jesus became like men and died so that he could free them. They were like slaves all their lives because of their fear of death.

13 And again,
And again he says,
14 Since the children have flesh and blood,(C) he too shared in their humanity(D) so that by his death he might break the power(E) of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil(F)— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear(G) of death.
