The son becomes the priest
4 Nobody takes the office of priesthood on himself; you have to be called by God, just as Aaron was. 5 In the same way, the Messiah didn’t exalt himself so that he might become a high priest. It came about through the one who said to him,
You are my son; today I have become your father.
6 As he says in another passage,
You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.

4 And no one takes this honor on himself, but he receives it when called by God, just as Aaron was.(A)
5 In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory(B) of becoming a high priest.(C) But God said(D) to him,
6 And he says in another place,
