Hebrews 7:21-23

²¹(for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him,

“^(A)The ^[a]Lord has sworn
And ^(B)will not change His mind,
‘You are a priest ^(C)forever’”);

²²so much more Jesus also has become the ^(D)guarantee of ^(E)a better covenant.

²³And ^[b]the former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing,

²¹but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:

“The Lord has sworn

²²Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.^(C)

²³Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;
