26 For then He would have had to suffer repeatedly since the world was created, but now He has appeared once at the end of the ages to put away sin by sacrificing Himself. 27 As it is appointed for men to die once, but after this comes the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to save those who eagerly wait for Him.

26 Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.(A) But he has appeared(B) once for all(C) at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.(D) 27 Just as people are destined to die once,(E) and after that to face judgment,(F) 28 so Christ was sacrificed once(G) to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time,(H) not to bear sin,(I) but to bring salvation(J) to those who are waiting for him.(K)
