Hebrews 9:4-6

New Testament for Everyone

⁴This contained the golden altar, and the ark of the covenant, which was covered completely in gold. In the ark were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded and the tablets of the covenant. ⁵Above it were the glorious cherubim, which overshadowed the mercy seat. There is much we could say about all this, but now is not the time.

⁶With all these things in place, the priests continually go into the first Tabernacle in the ordinary course of their duties.

Hebrews 9:4-6

New International Version

⁴which had the golden altar of incense^(A) and the gold-covered ark of the covenant.^(B) This ark contained the gold jar of manna,^(C) Aaron’s staff that had budded,^(D) and the stone tablets of the covenant.^(E) ⁵Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory,^(F) overshadowing the atonement cover.^(G) But we cannot discuss these things in detail now.

⁶When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly^(H) into the outer room to carry on their ministry.

⁵And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

⁶Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
