Hosea 13:7-9
American Standard Version

7 Therefore am I unto them as a lion; as a leopard will I watch by the way; 8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart; and there will I devour them like a lioness; the wild beast shall tear them.

9 [a]It is thy destruction, O Israel, [b]that thou art against me, against thy help.

    like a leopard I will lurk by the path.
8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs,(B)
    I will attack them and rip them open;
like a lion(C) I will devour them—
    a wild animal will tear them apart.(D)

9 “You are destroyed, Israel,
    because you are against me,(E) against your helper.(F)
