Hosea 8:12-14

12 Even if I gave her ten thousand laws, she’d say they weren’t for her—that they applied to someone far away. 13 Her people love the ritual of their sacrifice, but to me it is meaningless! I will call for an accounting of their sins and punish them; they shall return to Egypt.
14 “Israel has built great palaces; Judah has constructed great defenses for her cities, but they have forgotten their Maker. Therefore, I will send down fire upon those palaces and burn those fortresses.”

New International Version
12 I wrote for them the many things of my law,
but they regarded them as something foreign.(A)
13 Though they offer sacrifices as gifts to me,
and though they eat(B) the meat,
the Lord is not pleased with them.(C)
Now he will remember(D) their wickedness
and punish their sins:(E)
They will return to Egypt.(F)
14 Israel has forgotten(G) their Maker(H)
and built palaces;
Judah has fortified many towns.
But I will send fire on their cities
that will consume their fortresses.”(I)
