In those foreign lands they will not be able to make wine offerings to the Lord or bring their sacrifices to him. Their food will defile everyone who eats it, like food eaten at funerals. It will be used only to satisfy their hunger; none of it will be taken as an offering to the Lord's Temple. And when the time comes for the appointed festivals in honor of the Lord, what will they do then? When the disaster comes and the people are scattered, the Egyptians will gather them up—gather them for burial there at Memphis! Their treasures of silver and the places where their homes once stood will be overgrown with weeds and thorn bushes.

They will not pour out wine offerings(A) to the Lord,
    nor will their sacrifices please(B) him.
Such sacrifices will be to them like the bread of mourners;(C)
    all who eat them will be unclean.(D)
This food will be for themselves;
    it will not come into the temple of the Lord.(E)

What will you do(F) on the day of your appointed festivals,(G)
    on the feast days of the Lord?
Even if they escape from destruction,
    Egypt will gather them,(H)
    and Memphis(I) will bury them.(J)
Their treasures of silver(K) will be taken over by briers,
    and thorns(L) will overrun their tents.
