Hosea 2:19-23

New American Standard Bible

¹⁹I will ^(A)betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me in ^(B)righteousness and in justice,
In favor and in compassion,
²⁰And I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness.
Then you will ^(C)know the Lord.

²¹“And it will come about on that day that ^(D)I will respond,” declares the Lord.
“I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth,
²²And the ^(E)earth will respond to the grain, to the new wine, and to the oil,
And they will respond to ^[a]Jezreel.
²³I will ^(F)sow her for Myself in the land.
^(G)I will also have compassion on ^[b]her who had not obtained compassion,
And ^(H)I will say to ^[c]those who were ^(I)not My people,
‘You are My people!’
And ^[d]they will say, ‘You are my God!’”

²⁶^(A)so that He might sanctify her, having ^(B)cleansed her by the ^(C)washing of water with ^(D)the word, ²⁷that He might ^(E)present to Himself the church ^[a]in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be ^(F)holy and blameless. ²⁸So husbands also ought to ^(G)love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; ²⁹for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, ³⁰because we are ^(H)parts of His ^(I)body. ³¹^(J)For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. ³²This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. ³³Nevertheless, as for you individually, each husband is to ^(K)love his own wife the same as himself, and the wife must see to it that she ^(L)respects her husband.
