Good News Translation

5 They are coming from far-off countries at the ends of the earth. In his anger the Lord is coming to devastate the whole country.

6 (A)Howl in pain! The day of the Lord is near, the day when the Almighty brings destruction. 7 Everyone's hands will hang limp, and everyone's courage will fail.

New International Version

5 They come from faraway lands,
    from the ends of the heavens(A)—
the Lord and the weapons(B) of his wrath(C)—
    to destroy(D) the whole country.

6 Wail,(E) for the day(F) of the Lord is near;
    it will come like destruction(G) from the Almighty.[a](H)
7 Because of this, all hands will go limp,(I)
    every heart will melt with fear.(J)
