⁶Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.

New International Version

⁶Wail,^(A) for the day^(B) of the Lord is near;
it will come like destruction^(C) from the Almighty.^[a]^(D)

⁸And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

⁸In the whole land,” declares the Lord,
“two-thirds will be struck down and perish;
yet one-third will be left in it.^(A)
