Isaiah 14:21-23

21 “Prepare for his sons a place of slaughter
Because of the (A)iniquity of their fathers.
They must not arise and take possession of the earth
And fill the face of the world with cities.”
22 “I will rise up against them,” declares the Lord of hosts, “and will cut off from Babylon (B)name and survivors, (C)offspring and posterity,” declares the Lord. 23 “I will also make it a possession for the (D)hedgehog and swamps of water, and I will sweep it with the broom of (E)destruction,” declares the Lord of hosts.

21 Prepare a place to slaughter his children(A)
for the sins of their ancestors;(B)
they are not to rise to inherit the land
and cover the earth with their cities.
22 “I will rise up(C) against them,”
declares the Lord Almighty.
“I will wipe out Babylon’s name(D) and survivors,
her offspring and descendants,(E)”
declares the Lord.
23 “I will turn her into a place for owls(F)
and into swampland;
I will sweep her with the broom of destruction,(G)”
