13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but he shall rebuke [a]them, and [b]they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the whirling dust before the storm. 14 At eventide, behold, terror; and before the morning [c]they are not. This is the portion of them that despoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

13 Although the peoples roar(A) like the roar of surging waters,
when he rebukes(B) them they flee(C) far away,
driven before the wind like chaff(D) on the hills,
like tumbleweed before a gale.(E)
14 In the evening, sudden(F) terror!(G)
Before the morning, they are gone!(H)
This is the portion of those who loot us,
the lot of those who plunder us.
