12 Well then, where are your wise men?
Please let them tell you,
And let them [a]understand what the Lord of hosts
Has (A)purposed against Egypt.
13 The princes of [b]Zoan have acted foolishly,
The princes of (B)Memphis are deluded;
Those who are the (C)cornerstone of her tribes
Have [c]led Egypt astray.
14 The Lord has mixed within her a spirit of (D)distortion;
(E)They have led Egypt astray in all [d]that it does,
As a (F)drunken man [e]staggers in his vomit.

Let them show you and make known
what the Lord Almighty
has planned(B) against Egypt.
13 The officials of Zoan(C) have become fools,
the leaders of Memphis(D) are deceived;
the cornerstones(E) of her peoples
have led Egypt astray.
14 The Lord has poured into them
a spirit of dizziness;(F)
they make Egypt stagger in all that she does,
as a drunkard staggers(G) around in his vomit.
