For You have been a stronghold for the poor,
a stronghold for the needy(A) person in his distress,
a refuge from the rain, a shade from the heat.(B)
When the breath of the violent
is like rain against a wall,
like heat in a dry land,
You subdue the uproar of barbarians.
As[a] the shade of a cloud cools the heat of the day,
so He silences the song of the violent.

The Lord of Hosts will prepare a feast(C)
for all the peoples on this mountain[b](D)
a feast of aged wine, choice meat,[c] finely aged wine.

For the breath of the ruthless(E)
    is like a storm driving against a wall
    and like the heat of the desert.
You silence(F) the uproar of foreigners;(G)
    as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
    so the song of the ruthless(H) is stilled.

On this mountain(I) the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast(J) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.(K)
