7 On this mountain
he will swallow up the burial shroud,
the shroud over all the peoples,
the sheet covering all the nations.(A)
8 When he has swallowed up death once and for all,(B)
the Lord God will wipe away the tears
from every face(C)
and remove his people’s disgrace(D)
from the whole earth,
for the Lord has spoken.
9 On that day it will be said,
“Look, this is our God;
we have waited for him, and he has saved us.
This is the Lord; we have waited for him.
Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”(E)

7 On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud(A) that enfolds all peoples,(B)
the sheet that covers all nations;
8 he will swallow up death(C) forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears(D)
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace(E)
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken.(F)
