Isaiah 3:8-10

International Standard Version

⁸“For Jerusalem has stumbled,
and Judah has fallen,
because what they say and do opposes^[a] the Lord;
they keep defying him.^[b]

⁹“The expressions on their faces give them away.^[c]
    They parade their sin around like Sodom;
        they don’t even try to^[d] hide it.
How horrible it will be for them,
    because they have brought disaster on themselves!”

Encouragement to the Righteous

¹⁰“Tell^[e] the righteous that things will go well,
because they will enjoy^[f] the fruit of their actions.”

New International Version

⁸Jerusalem staggers,
    Judah is falling;^(A)
their words^(B) and deeds^(C) are against the Lord,
    defying^(D) his glorious presence.
⁹The look on their faces testifies^(E) against them;
    they parade their sin like Sodom;^(F)
    they do not hide it.
Woe to them!
    They have brought disaster^(G) upon themselves.
