Shall be your shame,
And trust in the shadow of Egypt
Shall be your humiliation.
For his princes were at (B)Zoan,
And his ambassadors came to Hanes.
(C)They were all ashamed of a people who could not benefit them,
Or be help or benefit,
But a shame and also a reproach.”

    Egypt’s shade(A) will bring you disgrace.(B)
Though they have officials in Zoan(C)
    and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,
everyone will be put to shame
    because of a people(D) useless(E) to them,
who bring neither help(F) nor advantage,
    but only shame and disgrace.(G)
