A King Will Reign Righteously

¹⁰ “For thus says Yahweh, ‘When ^(A)seventy years have been fulfilled for Babylon, I will ^[a]visit you and establish My ^(B)good word to you, to return you to this place.

⁴² For thus says Yahweh, ‘^(A)Just as I brought all this great evil on this people, so I am going to ^(B)bring on them all the good that I am promising them.

⁹ And ^[a]it will be to Me a ^(A)name of joy, praise, and beauty before ^(B)all the nations of the earth which will hear of all the ^(C)good that I do for them, and they will ^(D)be in dread and tremble because of all the good and all the peace that I make for it.’

²³ “Then I will ^(A)establish over them one ^(B)shepherd, My servant ^(C)David, and he will shepherd them; he will shepherd them himself and be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I, Yahweh, will be their God, and My servant ^(D)David will be prince among them; I, Yahweh, have spoken.

Yahweh’s Covenant of Peace

²⁵ “I will cut a ^(E)covenant of peace with them and ^(F)cause harmful beasts to cease from the land so that they may ^(G)live securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods.

⁶ For thus says Yahweh of hosts, ‘^(A)Once more—^[a]in a ^(B)little while—I am going to ^(C)shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. ⁷ And I will shake ^(D)all the nations; and ^[b]they will come with the ^(E)desirable things of all nations, and I will ^(F)fill this house with glory,’ says Yahweh of hosts. ⁸ ‘The ^(G)silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ declares Yahweh of hosts. ⁹ ‘The latter ^(H)glory of this house will be greater than the ^(I)former,’ says Yahweh of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give ^(J)peace,’ declares Yahweh of hosts.”
