35 1 The great joy of them that believe in Christ. 3 Their office which preach the Gospel. 8 The fruits that follow thereof.
1 The [a]desert and the wilderness shall rejoice, and the waste ground shall be glad and flourish as the rose.
2 It shall flourish abundantly, and shall greatly rejoice also and joy: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it: the beauty of [b]Carmel, and of Sharon, they shall [c]see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
3 [d]Strengthen the weak hands, and comfort the feeble knees.

- Isaiah 35:1 He prophesieth of the full restoration of the Church both of the Jews and Gentiles under Christ, which shall be fully accomplished at the last day: albeit as yet it is compared to a desert and wilderness.
- Isaiah 35:2 The Church which was before compared to a barren wilderness shall by Christ be made most plenteous and beautiful.
- Isaiah 35:2 He showeth that the presence of God is the cause that the Church doth bring forth fruit and flourish.

Joy of the Redeemed
35 The desert(A) and the parched land will be glad;
the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.(B)
Like the crocus,(C) 2 it will burst into bloom;
it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.(D)
The glory of Lebanon(E) will be given to it,
the splendor of Carmel(F) and Sharon;(G)
they will see the glory(H) of the Lord,
the splendor of our God.(I)
3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
steady the knees(J) that give way;
