6 Then the (A)lame will leap like a deer,
And the (B)tongue of the mute will shout for joy.
For waters will break forth in the (C)wilderness
And streams in the [a]Arabah.
7 Then the [b]scorched land will become a pool
And the thirsty ground (D)springs of water;
In the (E)haunt of jackals, its resting place,
Grass becomes reeds and rushes.
8 (F)And a [c]roadway will be there, (G)a highway,
And it will be called the Highway of (H)Holiness.
The unclean will not pass by on it,
But it will be for him who walks in that way,
And (I)ignorant fools will not wander on it.

7 The burning sand will become a pool,
the thirsty ground(F) bubbling springs.(G)
In the haunts where jackals(H) once lay,
grass and reeds(I) and papyrus will grow.
