Isaiah 36:8-10
Evangelical Heritage Version
8 Now then, make a bargain with my master the king of Assyria. I will give you two thousand horses, if you can find enough riders for them. 9 How can you resist even one officer from among the least of my lord’s servants? How can you put your trust in Egypt for chariots and charioteers?
10 What’s more, have I attacked this land to destroy it without the Lord’s orders? The Lord is the one who said to me, “Go up against this land and destroy it.”
Isaiah 36:8-10
New International Version
8 “‘Come now, make a bargain with my master, the king of Assyria: I will give you two thousand horses(A)—if you can put riders on them! 9 How then can you repulse one officer of the least of my master’s officials, even though you are depending on Egypt(B) for chariots(C) and horsemen[a]?(D) 10 Furthermore, have I come to attack and destroy this land without the Lord? The Lord himself told(E) me to march against this country and destroy it.’”
