Isaiah 36:8-10

8 Now therefore, [a]come make a bargain with my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to set riders on them. 9 How then can you [b]repulse one [c]official of the least of my master’s servants and [d](A)rely on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen? 10 Have I now come up [e]without the Lord’s approval against this land to destroy it? (B)The Lord said to me, ‘Go up against this land and destroy it.’”’”

8 “‘Come now, make a bargain with my master, the king of Assyria: I will give you two thousand horses(A)—if you can put riders on them! 9 How then can you repulse one officer of the least of my master’s officials, even though you are depending on Egypt(B) for chariots(C) and horsemen[a]?(D) 10 Furthermore, have I come to attack and destroy this land without the Lord? The Lord himself told(E) me to march against this country and destroy it.’”
