¹⁶ You will winnow^(A) them, the wind will pick them up,
    and a gale^(B) will blow them away.^(C)
But you will rejoice^(D) in the Lord
    and glory^(E) in the Holy One^(F) of Israel.

¹⁷ “The poor and needy search for water,^(G)
    but there is none;
    their tongues are parched with thirst.^(H)
But I the Lord will answer^(I) them;
    I, the God of Israel, will not forsake^(J) them.
¹⁸ I will make rivers flow^(K) on barren heights,
    and springs within the valleys.
I will turn the desert^(L) into pools of water,^(M)
    and the parched ground into springs.^(N)
